Question for you Arizonaians!

So what is the rave scene like there? I heard they are illegal but didnt believe it. I live in Utah and we have a pretty sick rave scene here but I go to the Phoneix/Tempe area to visit friends ALOT. So I was just wondering what it was like cause if they are pretty sick I would like to plan my next trip down there to where I can go rave in up and see how you AZ kids throw down

i dont really know how they would make them illegal.... how could that make it specific enough to not have to close down clubs and concerts.

The scene in southern AZ (phx/tucson areas) is really awesome....and has been for many many years. Up until recent times it was more of an underground scene as many parties took you way out into the desert. I used to party there ALOT years ago. I guess now their scene is almost like a copy cat of ours here in Southern California. One of my best friends lives there.

well thank you people above me for not answering this persons question at all. parties in arizona i think are pretty awesome for the most part. we are a close knit scene and cater to the hardcore scene for the most part. But, we respect all the other genres of EDM as well. Parties here are legal in the sense that majority of the time they are thrown in legit venues where everyone has their permits in order. The promoters for large parties usually have their business together and have a legal venue. Occasionally someone will throw one out in the desert. Well put Kurt. There are several venues that get reused here in AZ, such as the Rockin' R Ranch(Mesa), the 5th Avenue warehouse(Phoenix), occasionally cowtown, and this lovely spot known as Mile Marker 118 (the not so legal but equally safe desert party location), which is a long ass drive down the 10. Rarely do the events get shut down before 3AM, but occasionally they do get shut down early. Lately raves have been happening at this Juggalo bar in Phoenix that's off of 35th and Camelback too, and suprisingly it's a pretty legit venue. And of course, every once in awhile, a new venue is used, but those don't always last. Hope that helps.

And like Kurt said, we do have a big hardcore scene. Normally there's stages devoted to certain genres at the bigger raves, and you can normally find a place to groove to your trance or step down to the DnB and Dubstep. House & Electro House have become somewhat popular too. The point is, there's normally a good 3 stages at least to dance at

I currently live in Baltimore but am still involved in the Scene in AZ and Have Been for nearly a decade. There are a lot of Legit Partys and a lot of illegal (non permitted) parties usually during the summer months. I'm more into DnB so if you dig that i'd reccomend checking out the Draw Ten Party's thrown by Groove Corps and my Company Jump Down Music. They are Club events for the 18+ folks, if your looking for a more raved out atmosphere you can find a party every weekend out there. good luck check out AZEDM.com for all your AZ needs partywise.
