does anybody know if you can use a mixer without tables???

like just hook it up to an ipod and a sound system?

you can play music but you really wouldnt be able to do anything with it, other than cut out bass or mids or highs, which would be lame. if you hooked up 2 different music outputs to 2 channels, you could essentially mix them together but you wouldnt be able to beatmatch so you would sound like an idiot. go home retard.

A mixer just mixes any sound input. You can input anything with audio outputs... not to say you will actually be able to "mix" anything. You can certainly input like a tape deck and a computer, in to a mixer, then play them both through the same sound system.

... a mixer won't necesarilly allow you to mix the music though.

if you want to get into djing start with virtualdj (VIRTUAL DJ SOFTWARE - MP3 Mixing Software) and play with that for a few months. if you think its something you want to continue doing swallow your pride and cough up $500-800 for a real dj system.

dj equip isnt cheap, buying cheap off brand dj equipment will be like buying a bb gun and expecting a real gun. i made that mistake and i am still financially paying for it. get a real dj setup (technics sl1200s and pioneer cdj800s are the industry standard, you can get away just fine with cdj400s.)

yea i already use that and i have tables my friend is letting me borrow till i get my own.
